| | EXPERIENCE | | She received her Ph.D. degree in Psychology from Columbia University in 2001. Dr. Schecter received her Louisiana license to practice Psychology in September, 2003. Some of her areas of specialty include: Behavior management and therapeutic interventions for children withADHD, Autistic-spectrum disorders such as PDD and Asperger's Disorder, and Learning Disabilities; Training and support for parents who have children with emotional, learning, and/or behavior problems; School consultation; Educational remediation with an emphasis on metacognitive skills training; Therapy with children with HIV; Bereavement in children; and Psychological testing of children. In New York, Dr. Schecter worked at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Jacobi Medical Center. She is proud to have founded and coordinated a Tutoring and Mentoring program for children with HIV, which is among the first such programs of its kind in existence. | | | | | |
